• Accreditation, Middle States Commission on Higher Education

    Carroll is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104 (267-284-5000). The Middle States Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

    The college was granted full accreditation in 1996. College accreditation was reaffirmed after evaluation team visits in 2006 and 2011:

  • Approval, Maryland Higher Education Commission

    Carroll Community College was approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission on April 14, 1993, to operate as a community college in the State of Maryland. The approval authorizes the College to award associate degrees and lower division certificates.
  • Program Accreditation and Approval

    The Emergency Medical Services Paramedic program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for Emergency Medical Services Professions.

    The Physical Therapy Assistant program has been accredited since 1996 by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). The program had its reaccreditation site visit in March 2011.

    The Associate Degree in (Registered) Nursing Program and the Certificate in Practical Nursing Program are approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing.

    The Carroll Community College Associate Degree in Nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) located at 2600 Virginia Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20037.

    The college is governed by a seven member Board of Trustees, appointed by the Governor of Maryland.
