JOB SUMMARY

The Student Care & Integrity Coordinator supports a safe, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment by providing coordinated student care, behavioral intervention support, and student conduct administration. This role includes case management, referral coordination, student support services, and educational programming. The Coordinator collaborates with campus partners to address student concerns, uphold community standards, and connect students to resources that support wellbeing, retention, and success. This position reports to the Senior Director of Student Care and Integrity.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Case management and student support
    • Meets with students to assess needs, provide support and resource referrals, conduct follow-up outreach, document interactions in case management systems, assist students in navigating campus processes, and connect students with services that support wellbeing, retention, and success.
  • CARE/BIT referral and triage
    • Reviews incoming CARE and Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) referrals; gathers information from reporting parties; assesses level of concern; consults with appropriate campus partners; determines next steps; and initiates follow-up, outreach, or referrals as appropriate
  • Student conduct process support
    • Assists with student conduct case administration by preparing correspondence, scheduling meetings, maintaining records, documenting outcomes, communicating procedures to students, and supporting educational interventions and follow-up activities.
  • Behavioral Intervention Team support
    • Attends weekly Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) meetings, takes notes, maintains case documentation, tracks follow-up activities, and supports coordination of student care interventions.
  • Student coaching and conflict resolution
    • Meets with students to discuss concerns, provides guidance and support, assists with conflict resolution, teaches problem-solving and self-advocacy skills, and connects students with campus and community resources.
  • Wellness programming
    • Assists with planning, coordinating, and implementing student wellness initiatives such as Wellbeing Wednesdays, mental health awareness programs, stress management workshops, suicide prevention outreach, basic needs awareness campaigns, and other educational programs designed to promote student wellbeing and success.
  • Campus collaboration
    • Works with faculty, advisors, counselors, public safety personnel, accessibility services, and other campus partners to coordinate support plans, address student concerns, and promote student success.
  • Documentation, compliance and data tracking
    • Maintains electronic case records in institutional systems (e.g., Advocate), documents student interactions, tracks student concerns, referrals, and intervention outcomes, monitors compliance with office procedures, prepares reports, and assists with assessment and recordkeeping activities
  • Resource development
    • Develops and updates resource guides, referral materials, outreach handouts, website content, educational materials, and student support resources used by students, faculty, and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Special Education, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, Student Affairs, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Public Health, or a related field
  • At least two years of professional experience providing direct support, case management, crisis response, behavioral intervention, student services, counseling support, education, social services, community services, or related area
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Must be flexible and responsive while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities based on urgent student needs
  • Understands the needs of students and creates a welcoming and safe environment for all students
  • Ability to use standard office equipment and technology including computers, copy machines, case management systems, and communication tools such as phones and MS Teams
  • Must be positive, cooperative and supportive

Preferred

  • Professional licensure or certifications related to counseling, social work, behavioral intervention, student support services, or case management including Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Mental Health First Aid Certification, or other related credentials related to student conduct administration, case management, threat assessment, or behavioral intervention teams.
  • Experience working in higher education, K–12 education, student affairs, behavioral health, social services, community-based organizations, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, conduct administration, or student support services is preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work is normally sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.  Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

  • Hear/talk/communicate – Must be able to exchange information and communicate
  • Visual Acuity/ability to perceive or detect surroundings
  • Mental acuity – Able to focus, concentrate, understand and convey subject matter
  • Repetitive motion (i.e. keyboarding)
  • Stand/sit/walk/able to move or traverse from one area to another

WORK ENVIRONMENT:           

College campus.  Direct interaction with students, staff and community partners, Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office, meeting, and training rooms; use of safe workplace practices with office equipment; computers for data entry and word processing; avoidance of trips and falls; observance of fire and building safety regulations.

  • Residency restrictions apply: The college does not hire solely online instructors living outside of Maryland. Carroll employees may live in other states, but they must physically work in Maryland the majority of the time.  For income tax obligations, employees must be a resident of DC, VA, WV, MD, or PA on the date employment commences.  In addition, candidates must be willing to come to campus for identity verification within 3 business days of hire date.
