Go Lynx!: The Making of a Mascot

Input from many members of the College community went into conceptualizing the Carroll Lynx logos. Here is some background info about how the design elements came roaring to life.

The appearance of the Lynx head, with its wide-open jaws and sharp-focused eyes, conveys both fierceness (in competitive sports) and intelligence (in higher learning). Its colors—blue, tan, black and white—were chosen from Carroll’s existing brand color palette. In addition, the pointed Lynx ears allude to the spired rooftop of the College’s A building.
