Nursing Admission & Registration

The Application for Admission into the Fall 2026 RN program or the Summer 2026 Transitions to RN Program will be open from November 15, 2025, through February 15, 2026. The Application for Admission into the Fall 2026 RN program or the Summer 2026 Transitions to RN Program will be open from November 15, 2025, through February 15, 2026. 

Entrance into the program is selective and is based on academic ability and aptitude for a career as a nurse. Acceptance is completed in conjunction with admission to Carroll Community College.

All applicants must take the NLN-NEX entrance examination. 

NLN-NEX information

NLN-NEX for Carroll Community College, class beginning Fall 2026.

• MUST be face-to-face in the Testing Center.
• Exams will be available from October 10, 2025, until February 15, 2026.
• A score of 138 on the composite section is required to be considered for acceptance.
• You may re-test every 30 days. In addition to the exam fee for the re-test, there is a $25 re-testing fee. Please pay the Testing Center on your re-testing day.
• You must bring a photo ID to all testing sessions.

• Enter email.
• Choose your institution.

• You will receive a link via your email asking you to reset your password. Verify your time zone. This setting can be the difference between making your institutions deadline!

Nursing Admissions Checklist

• Submit a credit enrollment application if you are not a Carroll student.
• Submit official transcripts to the Records Office.  
• Complete the NLN-NEX entrance examination.
• Submit a completed application packet to the Nursing Program Office (Suite N100). All documents must be submitted together as a single application packet.
  • Application Packet checklist:
    • Nursing Program application (signed and dated).
    • Two recommendations – must be on the Carroll Community
      College Nursing Program form (do not need to be sealed).
    • Copy of Driver’s License.
    • Official transcripts may be submitted directly to the Records
      Office or included in your application packet.  
    • Submit proof of high school graduation. This can be an official
      transcript from your high school, a copy of your diploma, GED
      certificate, or evaluation of a foreign high school transcript.
    • Submit proof of CNA is applicable.
