Hybrid/Electric Technician Job Overview
A Hybrid/Electric technician does many of the same tasks as an automotive tech such as repair basic car parts including brakes, steering wheels and engines. In addition, they are also able to diagnose and safely repair hybrid/electric vehicles. This requires a unique understanding of the batteries and mechanisms used in non-traditional automobiles. Most must perform automotive care tasks daily, like checking fluid levels, rotating tires and changing oil fluids. Automotive technicians must also clean the repair shop and organize the tools and various auto parts. |
Licensure/certification earned
Students will be prepared to sit for the ASE Engine Performance (A8) and ASE Light Duty Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Specialist (L3).
