Curriculum

QuickBooks® prepares students in computerized accounting for online business. Using the QuickBooks Online accounting software, learn to manage QuickBooks setup and maintenance, manage lists, track sales and income, track purchases and expenses, create and customize reports, customize tools, save time using devices and software, and complete the payroll process. Upon completion, students are prepared for the Certiport Intuit QuickBooks® Certified User exam, taken as the final assessment. Certification is not guaranteed. It is strongly recommended that students have basic technology skills in addition to accounting and/or bookkeeping experience to be successful in this course.

Licensure/Certification Earned

Students who complete the coursework are prepared to take the Certiport Intuit QuickBooks® Certified User (QBCU) exam. 

Financial Assistance

Funding is available to help pay for short-term job training. Up to 90% of costs may be covered to complete this training program.

    Yes. For students who are new to accounting or bookkeeping, Carroll offers Understanding Accounting and Financial Statements (MSB-121) through the Small Business division. This course provides foundational knowledge that supports success in the QuickBooks Online Specialist program.

    Yes. While the course is designed to prepare students for the QuickBooks Certified User exam, individuals may enroll to strengthen their QuickBooks skills without pursuing certification.
  9. Are there prerequisites for this program?
    Students should have strong computer skills and a basic understanding of bookkeeping concepts. Prior experience using QuickBooks is not required, but familiarity with accounting fundamentals is recommended.
  10. Is this an Accounting class?
    No. This is a software-focused course. Students are expected to have a basic understanding of bookkeeping concepts, such as recording financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and generating basic financial reports.
  11. Is the textbook included?
    The textbook is not included in the program cost. Students should purchase a new textbook to ensure access to required online modules and materials.
