To receive the degree, students must have a 2.750 GPA and submit qualifying scores on pre-professional basic skills test (e.g. SAT, ACT, Praxis CORE) approved by the Maryland State Board of Education to the Carroll Community College Records Office prior to their final term at Carroll. A candidate for this degree will also need to complete two terms of algebra-based Physics (PHYS-101 and -102) or two terms of Chemistry (CHEM-105 and -106).
The “Introduction to Special Education” course is a necessary requirement for the AAT degree, but is not sufficient to meet all special education or inclusion course requirements for 4-year teacher education programs.
Students must be in good academic standing in order to participate in field experiences. One field experience is allowed each term.
