Maryland Collegiate STEM Conference to be Held at Howard Community College to Showcase Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics

Westminster, Md., April 11, 2018—Carroll Community College students will participate in the Fourth Annual Maryland Collegiate STEM Conference (MCSC) on Saturday, April 14, 2018 beginning at 7:30 a.m.

The event will be held at Howard Community College’s Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) building at the campus located at 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia, Md., 21044.

MCSC is a collaborative effort of community colleges in Maryland to shine the spotlight on STEM and related areas. The conference brings students, faculty and staff of community colleges together for professional development, to showcase work, to create awareness and to network.

“I am pleased that community colleges from around the state are joining to offer an event in which high-achieving STEM students can meet, collaborate and demonstrate their talents and skills,” said College President Dr. James D. Ball.

“I am impressed with the high caliber of the students who are participating,” said Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Rosalie Mince. “I am proud of the hard work and dedication which Carroll Community College students demonstrate every day,” she said.

“A highlight of the event will be poster presentations by our STEM Scholars, a selective admissions group of students who complete high-impact, authentic and interdisciplinary undergraduate research as part of their program. I look forward to experiencing how they share their knowledge and accomplishments with their community college peers, faculty and staff,” said Mince.
