Press Release

Westminster, Md., Friday, August 2, 2019—Carroll Community College (Carroll) announced today the launch of their Women’s Soccer team will be delayed until Fall 2020.  “This was not a decision the College took lightly, and we are exploring other opportunities to keep our women’s soccer athletes engaged,” stated Dr. James D. Ball, president of Carroll. “While the initial interest and prospective athlete inquiries were very encouraging, we unfortunately do not have enough eligible female soccer players to field a full competitive team this year.”

Carroll will move forward with the launch of Men’s Soccer and Men’s and Women’s Cross Country this Fall and recruiting efforts for Women’s Soccer will continue. The College is extraordinarily proud of the way students and employees have rallied around the launch of athletics and anticipates Lynx pride will be on full display as the Men’s Soccer team takes the field at Carroll for the first time against Hagerstown on Tuesday, August 27, 2019. Carroll extends a spirited invite to the community to come support the Lynx this Fall.
