Pay Grade:     5 (starting salary $14.41 per hour)                

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt  

JOB SUMMARY

Assists Online Learning with converting Blackboard courses to Canvas. The Instruction Design Assistant reports to the Director of Online Learning.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:      

  • Under the supervision of the Director of Online Learning, ensures courses migrated to Canvas follow the prescribed Carroll layout, that all content has migrated, and that all links, videos, etc. are live and functioning
  • Use computers for word processing and/or accounting purposes
  • Performs other duties as assigned
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Canvas, familiarity with HTML and knowledge of instructional or web design preferred
  • Familiarity with basic computer functions, including the Internet and Microsoft Word
  • Detail oriented; responsive to change
  • Must be positive, cooperative and supportive
 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Hear/talk/communicate – Must be able to exchange information and communicate
  • Visual Acuity/ability to perceive or detect surroundings
  • Mental acuity – Able to focus, concentrate, understand and convey subject matter
  • Repetitive motion (i.e. keyboarding)
  • Stand/sit/walk/able to move or traverse from one area to another

WORK ENVIRONMENT:     

Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office, meeting, and training rooms; use of safe work place practices with office equipment; computers for data entry and word processing; avoidance of trips and falls; observance of fire and building safety regulations.   Work hours may vary <29 hours per week, (generally 15 hours per week).

   

SALARY:

This part-time position will be placed on the College Hourly Salary Scale, Grade 5, with a minimum starting salary of $14.41 per hour.
