This position assumes responsibility for the
advising of current students including academically at-risk students,
develops/delivers services to help students define and reach educational goals,
and provides support as needed in outreach activities to new and current
students. Understands the needs of diverse students and is able to create an
inclusive and safe environment for all students. It reports to the Senior
Director, Advising and Retention.
REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
work is normally light work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force
occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to
lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Periodically,
it requires standing for longer periods of time during presentations or
fairs. Additionally, the following
physical abilities are required:
Work environment involves everyday risks or
discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as
office, meeting, and training rooms; use of safe work place practices with
office equipment; computers for data entry and word processing; avoidance of
trips and falls; observance of fire and building safety regulations; and
observance of traffic laws if driving College vehicle.
position will be placed on the 12 month Grade 10 college salary scale. Actual
salary placement based on qualifications and experience. Position includes an
excellent fringe benefit package. In order to qualify for employment,
candidates must successfully complete a criminal background check.
