FLSA Status: Exempt
position serves as the initial contact for the Adult Education learner and is
responsible for appropriate intake, assessment, and goal development of
learners. The Coordinator must be able to work with adults lacking a high
school credential and immigrants lacking Basic English communication skills. This
is a full-time 30 hours per week position with benefits. It reports to the
Manager of Adult Education.
REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
This work is normally sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Additionally the following physical abilities are required:
environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions
typical of such places as office, meeting, and training rooms; use of safe workplace practices with office
equipment; computers for data entry and word processing with highly technical
applications and new technology systems; avoidance of trips and falls;
observance of fire and building safety regulations; and observance of traffic
signals when driving. Travel to off-site locations. Work schedule will require a minimum of two
nights per week from 5pm – 9pm.

The College pays one-half of reasonable travel expenses for the first visit and
pays the entire cost of travel for the second visit. The College does not pay
relocation expenses. However, following
a one-year probationary period, year-to-year contracts are provided for this
grant funded position.
