FLSA Status: Non-exempt
position is responsible for providing technical laboratory assistance to
science faculty including but not limited to setting up labs, explaining lab
procedures to instructors, dismantling labs, and troubleshooting equipment. It reports to the Division Chair,
work is physically active on a medium level. It involves dealing with chemicals
or biological elements as well as laboratory equipment. Additionally, the
following physical abilities are required:
College campus, direct contact with
students, staff, faculty and the general public in classrooms, common areas,
offices, and campus environments. Work
environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions
typical of such places as office, meeting, and training rooms. Use of safe work place practices with office and
lab equipment; computers for data entry and word processing; need to follow
safety protocol with chemicals and biological elements both in usage and
storage to avoid potential dangers; avoidance of trips and falls; observance of
fire and building safety regulations and observance of traffic laws when/if
driving a College vehicle.
position will be placed on the 12-month grade 7 College salary scale. Actual
salary placement based on qualifications and experience. Position includes an
