Francis Scott Key High School Team Wins Carroll Academic Challenge
Carroll Community College and Carroll County Public Schools sponsored the Carroll Academic Challenge held March 10 in the Theater in the Scott Center at Carroll Community College. The winner of this year's Carroll Academic Challenge was Francis Scott Key High School. The runners up were North Carroll High School and Westminster High School.
Other schools that participated were Century High School, Liberty High School, South Carroll High School, Winters Mill High School and Littlestown High School from Littlestown, Pa.
The Carroll Academic Challenge is a friendly competition between students from area high schools. Each of the public high schools in the county selects a team of students to represent each school.
"What a great day! Each school should be very proud of its students. Just about every match came down to the last question. Dwight Dingle of WTTR and Sherri-Le Bream, Director of Carroll County High Schools, as moderator and master of cermonies calmed nervous students and energized the audience. This was our fourth year and we've had a different winner each year! I can't wait to see what next year will bring !," said Bill Warburton, producer of the Carroll Academic Challenge.
