Carroll Offers Yoga Teacher Training

Yoga Teacher Training Offered this Fall at Carroll Community College!

Carroll Community College continues to be a leader in Westminster to offer this nine-month (200 hours) Yoga Teacher Training program. Students will learn to create a professional therapeutic healing practice using the tools of yoga, Ayurveda and the meditation arts.

Offered in partnership with Yama Studio of Baltimore, this non-credit program incorporates the vast body of therapeutic wisdom that has been studied, practiced and taught by yogis and Ayurveda practitioners throughout the ages. Yama Studio is a registered yoga school with Yoga Alliance (YA) and our graduates are eligible to apply for Registered Yoga Trainer (RYT) status with YA. You must complete both parts in order to qualify for certification.

Instructor Sundari (Diane) Finlayson is the owner of Yama Studio and is the program director for the yama therepeutics Yoga Teacher Training program. She has been practicing yoga and meditation for more than 20 years is an E-RYT 500, the highest designation set in the industry, through Yoga Alliance. She is a Master Teacher of the Wise Earth school of Ayurveda founded by Swamini Mayatitananda (Formerly Maya Tiwari). Diane offers asana, philosophy and meditation classes at Yama and Johns Hopkins University, and leads workshops and retreats across the country. She is also an afternoon newscaster for 88.1 WYPR-FM.
