Degree in Education Receive Assistance
Westminster, Md., Oct. 30, 2008--In conjunction with the Maryland State Department of Education, Carroll Community College has begun the implementation of a fund to be used for students pursuing an education degree who presently work in the child care field.
The Child Care Career and Professional Development Fund allows students to be reimbursed for course work leading to a degree in the early childhood education or a related field. In addition, the fund pays for books and fees incurred each semester.
Students who have been employed in child care for at least one year, and are participating in the Maryland Credential Program, are eligible to apply for this fund. A fact sheet detailing eligibility and access to the fund can be found on the MSDE website- www.marylandpublicschools.org .
