Carroll Community College Presents Documentary Showing

Westminster, Md., --The Early Childhood Education Club (ECE) at Carroll Community College will present a showing of the movie Finding Kind on Nov. 27 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Theater in the Scott Center.

The film is a documentary in which two girls take a cross country trip to interview young girls and women about their experiences with bullying and how it has impacted their lives. The film highlights the importance of acceptance and kindness, according to Carole Williamson, ECE Club Adviser. Carroll invites college, middle school and high school students to attend, as well as community members, parents and teachers.

“Some ECE Club members saw the film last year and thought it was so very important to spread the message to students of the college and the larger community,” said Williamson. “The vast majority of early childhood teachers are women. Our ECE students felt it would help them understand better the damage that can be caused by bullying among girls. Our ECE students want to help young girls recognize how they can stop this pattern.”

ECE students will be doing a brief activity before the film, handing out "Kind Cards" and "Apology Cards," which are explained in the film.
