Setting up your Carroll Email Account

To set up your account for the first time:

  1. Open this link:  https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/?whr=carrollcc.edu.
  2. Enter your Carroll email address: ([email])
  3. On the next screen, choose “forgot my password” and click Next.
  4. You will be sent a verification code to your personal email account
  5. Enter your verification code.
  6. You will then be prompted to create a password.
  7. Store your password somewhere secure, like a password manager. You will need this password handy for many transactions.

Note: The first time you log in, you will be required to set up Multi-Factor Authentication. Click here for instructions on setting this up.

Set up your College Email.
This is where all official communication will be sent to you:

Use your email address ([email]) and the password you just created to log in to email at https://www.carrollcc.edu/resources/online-learning-technology/email/.

Logging in to the Lynx Portal

You will need your Username ([username]) and your newly created password to access the Lynx Student Portal using the instructions below:

  1. Go directly to  https://www.carrollcc.edu/mycarroll/.
  2. Click on the Lynx Student Portal icon.
  3. Enter your Username ([username]) and password.
  4. Click Sign in.

Check your eligibility to take classes at https://www.carrollcc.edu/admissions-aid/course-placement-eligibility/. At the previous link, look for the appropriate student type and view eligibility criteria. If you need to send us transcripts, please have them sent to the Advising Office at advising@carrollcc.edu.

Register for Credit Classes

Dual Enrollment:

  •  Carroll County Public School students:
  • Follow registration steps found at www.carrollcc.edu/ccps-dual-steps, or
  • If you’d like to meet with an advisor, call the Admissions Office to schedule an appointment at (410) 386-8430.
  • Home school and private school students:
  • Call the Admissions Office at (410) 386-8430 to go over course eligibility and/or to schedule an appointment.

All other students:

  • Call the Advising Office to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor at (410) 386-8435.

*24 hours after you’ve set up your account, complete your intake survey in Starfish so we can connect you with important services on campus to help you be successful:

  1. Click on Starfish from the Lynx Student Portal.
  2. Click on the three-lined menu button in the upper left corner
  3. Click on [DQ]Tell Us More About Yourself[DQ] and complete your survey.

Canvas Information

Your “lifeline” to your coursework. Each one of your courses has its own page on Canvas . You will access your assignments, contact information for your faculty member, your gradebook and many other useful items. Your courses are available beginning in Preview Week (the week prior to classes beginning).

Microsoft Office 365

Being a registered student at Carroll gives you free access to all of the Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as many others.
