Carroll offers two scholarships to support entrepreneurs who are looking for innovative solutions and practical guidance to start, grow and fund their businesses.

To continue our support for small businesses, Miller scholarship funds may cover up to 100% of course costs for all classes and workshops beginning with MSB, SBD and SBA until funds are depleted.

Scholarship Fund Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicant must reside in Carroll County and business entity must operate in Carroll County.
  • Applicant must have no outstanding balance with Carroll Community College.
  • Applicant may be responsible for repayment of any award for failure to attend and/or successfully complete class(es).
  • Only small business classes (signified by MSB, SBD or SBA in the course number) qualify for Miller: Resources for Entrepreneurs Scholarship funding.
  • Award total may include up to 100% of the course cost, contingent on availability of funds.
  • One owner per organization in the same class.
  • Up to three classes per fiscal year, per person.

Maryland Business Opportunity Center (MBOC) has made full scholarship funding available for the non-credit Pathways to Entrepreneurship certificate program, a two-course program that prepares you to venture into entrepreneurship. The program is offered online, asynchronously, providing flexible access. Visit Pathways to Entrepreneurship for course details.

Funding is available to credit and non-credit students!

  • Eligible credit students receive a scholarship to cover the full cost of the program and up to 4 billable hours of in-county credit tuition.
  • Eligible non-credit students receive a scholarship to cover the full cost of the program and concurrent enrollment in related non-credit courses or workforce development programs.
  • All students who complete the Pathways program leave with a business plan they can submit to the Pathways Challenge where the winning entrepreneur will receive $5,000 to start their business!

MBOC Scholarship Fund Eligibility Requirements

  • Enrolled in at least 3 credits for the current semester. (Credit students only.)
  • In good academic standing. (Credit students only.)
  • Maryland resident.
  • Currently engaged in or planning to engage in future entrepreneurial endeavors.
  • Planning to enroll in Pathways to Entrepreneurship certificate program.

Register in one of the Pathways cohorts below by calling Continuing Education and Training at 410-386-8100 or by visiting Room A115. You must register for both courses at the same time.
