53 Schools will exhibit at the event for current students and alumni

Exhibitors to include two new transfer schools: Southern New Hampshire University and West Virginia University

Westminster, MD─ Carroll Community College (Carroll) announces that its Transfer Fair will be held on Wednesday, October 4th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Babylon Great Hall of their Westminster campus.  Approximately 53 schools will be exhibiting at the event, which typically draws hundreds of current students and alumni.

The College currently has transfer agreements with 33 unique colleges and universities, both in Maryland and throughout the country.  Carroll’s transfer arrangements provide students the opportunity to apply credits from their community college classes to earn their four-year degree in an efficient manner.

Carroll students have transferred to more than 884 schools across the United States and internationally.  Based on a review of students entering the College in 2018, more than half of them had transferred to another institution.

In keeping with providing students access to a variety of four-year colleges and universities, Carroll has recently entered into transfer agreements with two new schools: Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) and West Virginia University.

“We are excited about the options these new partners offer our students,” said Dr. April Herring, Senior Director, Advising and Retention, Carroll Community College.  “West Virginia University offers a traditional college experience for those students interested in that path.  SNHU, one of the largest accredited online universities, is a great option for working adults.”  SNHU offers more than 200 degree programs in many areas including business, healthcare, and technology.

The Carroll Admissions Office and university representatives are eager to assist students who are intrigued about potential transfer opportunities.

“I am going to see what opportunities might be out there,” said Lara Findeisen, a second-year Carroll student from Westminster.  “I am a video production major and I want to see what transfer entails.”

Representatives that attend the fair are specialists in the transfer process, allowing a ‘one stop shopping’ experience for students. It also provides access to affordable options that students may not have considered.

“It’s a great way to make a personal connection at a school you are interested in. Once you know a person, you feel comfortable reaching out to ask questions instead of trying to click around a web site or talk to a chat bot,” said Herring.
