Electrical Apprenticeship Carroll Community College

Unlock your future with Carroll County’s premier Trades Apprenticeship Programs!

Welcome to Carroll County’s gateway to a rewarding career and financial independence. Supported by industry leaders, our Trades Apprenticeships—often branded as “earn while you learn”—offer a unique opportunity for you to learn, earn and succeed in a dynamic field.

Carroll’s apprenticeship courses help students earn a journeyman license in just four (4) years. Working and studying under the direction of a skilled supervisor, they provide a mixture of classroom instruction at Carroll Community College and on-the-job training at the sponsoring employer, with guaranteed progressive wages (generally a 10 to 15% increase each year).

Additional employee benefits include:

  • Pathway to a long-term, stable career
  • Higher wages and earlier advancement opportunities
  • Earned industry credentials
  • On-the-job peer support
  • Creates a competitive advantage
  • Employers may cover cost of related instruction
  • Graduate debt-free

To be eligible for a trades apprenticeship, you must be at least 18 years old; and employed and sponsored by a licensed electrical contractor or HVACR company.

Available Apprenticeships

All apprenticeships have been approved by the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation.

Electrical Engineering Carroll Community College

Electrical

Learn residential, commercial and industrial electrical applications. This training program, presented in partnership with the Electrical Apprenticeship Program of Carroll County, is designed to take a student from helper to registered journeyman in only 4 years. Work fulltime during the day while completing coursework two (2) nights per week for six (6) months at the College.

HVACR apprenticeship Carroll Community College

HVACR

Learn to install, service and repair heating and air conditioning systems in both residential and commercial settings. Offered in partnership with the Heating and Air Conditioning Contractors of Maryland, this training program provides a 4-year curriculum to students who are employed in the industry, taking related instructional coursework two (2) nights per week for six (6) months per year at the College.

The apprenticeship program is set up to complement the schedule and needs of a tradesman. Classes are held twice a week in the evening, which allowed me to work while I was going to school. Now, 12 years after graduating, I am a master electrician. The Carroll Community College Electrical Apprenticeship program was an excellent starting point for my career.
