New Quizzes Timeline
SPRING 2022
- New Quizzes available for all courses in Canvas at Carroll starting Spring 2022
- Faculty should get familiar with New Quizzes:
- Attend New Quizzes training (Dates Coming Soon)
- Create a New Quiz
- Migrate one or more existing Classic Quizzes
- Consider using New Quizzes in your Spring 2022 course
- Option to migrate all quizzes in a course to New Quizzes expected early Spring
SUMMER 2022
- Beginning July 2022, only New Quizzes can be created in Canvas
- Classic Quizzes copied to new courses will import as New Quizzes
- Unable to create new “Classic Quizzes” after July 2022
FALL 2022
- Students can complete a Classic Quiz if the quiz is published in an active course before July 2022
- By December 2022, access to Classic Quizzes is removed from Canvas; Carroll will still have access to question and student attempt data for archival purposes
SPRING 2023
- Student access to Classic Quizzes is blocked
- Classic Quizzes interface is removed from Canvas; Carroll will still have access to question and student attempt data for archival purposes
New Quizzes Resources
New Quizzes will eventually replace Classic Quizzes as the default quiz engine. New Quizzes was enabled for all Carroll users on October 1, 2021. Instructors and TAs now have the option to select either Classic Quizzes or New Quizzes for their assessments.
Classic Quizzes can be used in Canvas courses until July 2022 when New Quizzes will be the only assessment option.
