Carroll Food Locker

  • The Carroll Food Locker Program (CFLP) offers grocery assistance to Carroll Community College faculty, staff and students in need. The program is made possible from Student Life sponsored food drives of non-perishable food donations from faculty, staff and students.


  • Eligibility

    All students, credit and non-credit, who are registered for the current semester and current faculty and staff are able to participate. No financial information is required to determine eligibility.

    Application Process

    To sign up for the Food Locker, please email studentlife@carrollcc.edu.

    You will need to complete an information/waiver form. This simple one-page form requires your college ID number, and some basic demographic information. No name or financial information is asked. However, a signature is required for the waiver.

    Once you have been determined eligible, you will receive a Food Locker ID number and card, which you must present at food pick-up.

    The registration process is repeated at the start of every new term.

    Food Pick-up

    Food items vary week to week but primarily consist of canned foods, pasta, peanut butter, condiments, cereal, crackers, pretzels and similar items. There is quite a variety of food represented in limited quantities such as organic and ethnic foods. 

    Due to COVID-19, the Food Locker has changed some of its procedures.

    • Starting on Tuesday, September 1st, the Food Locker will be open by appointment only.
    • Clients will be able to shop in the Food Locker during their appointment time. Gloves will be provided. 
    • Clients will be limited to 8 bags a month. The Food Locker will provide plastic grocery bags. No reusable grocery bags will be allowed.
    • Food items vary from week to week, but primarily consist of canned foods, dry goods, and limited amounts of frozen meats and produce. We also have a limited supply of hygiene products.

    Location and Hours

    The Food Locker is located on the lower level of the Great Hall, under the stairs and across from the vending machines. Due to COVID-19, the Food Locker will be open for limited hours in the fall semester.

    Tuesdays 12 to 4 pm
    Wednesdays 10:30 am to 2:30 pm
    Thursdays 2 to 6 pm

    Please note that the first 30 minutes and the last 30 minutes are not available for appointments. They are dedicated to cleaning and upkeep of the Food Locker.

    We encourage all clients to try to schedule an appointment during the operating hours as appointments outside of those hours will be extremely limited.

    Donations

    Personal donations are not being accepted at this time. If you would like to donate to the Food Locker you can make a monetary donation to the College Foundation and designate the Food Locker as the beneficiary. You can also purchase an item from our Amazon Wish List. Make sure the delivery address is set to the college address attention to the Food Locker.
