Applied Cybersecurity Career Accelerator
Starting Fall 2026
The Applied Cybersecurity Career Accelerator (ACCA) is an intensive, hands-on career pathway for motivated students who want to go beyond the Cybersecurity A.A.S. curriculum and graduate with a clear competitive advantage in the cybersecurity job market.
The ACCA is completed separately from the Cybersecurity degree program as a complementary experience that demonstrates exceptional motivation, technical capability, and career readiness, serving to make the student stand out to prospective employers.
Designed for students who are serious about building a cybersecurity career, the ACCA requires commitment, initiative, and consistent engagement outside of regular coursework.
What Students Gain
- Marketable Cybersecurity Skills
ACCA students build a well-rounded portfolio of qualifications that extends beyond the classroom. Participants complete industry-recognized certifications, advanced projects, vendor trainings, and internships that employers recognize and value. - Proof of Capability
ACCA students develop a professional online presence that showcases their technical skills, accomplishments, and projects. Employers gain direct access to this evidence of a student’s capability, professionalism, and hireability. - Professional Connections
ACCA students attend exclusive networking events where they build meaningful relationships with cybersecurity professionals. Each student is also paired with an industry mentor who provides guidance and support throughout the ACCA. - Career & Interview Readiness
ACCA students receive continuous dedicated support from Carroll’s Career Development Center, including interview preparation, career coaching, and job/internship search assistance, that builds confidence and improves outcomes.
If you’re a Cybersecurity A.A.S. student ready to invest in your future, push beyond the classroom, and distinguish yourself in a highly competitive field, the Applied Cybersecurity Career Accelerator provides a clear path to building momentum toward a rewarding career in the cyber field.
