Behavioral Intervention Team
The Office of Student Care and Integrity supports and manages the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT). Carroll’s Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) is a cross-campus team that meets regularly to review and respond to reports regarding student concerns. The BIT addresses critical student behavioral or mental health concerns through the review of situations/incidents, information gathering and sharing, and providing recommendations to ensure the safety and educational success of the student. The BIT does not replace other classroom management or disciplinary processes, nor does it address student behaviors that require immediate health, police, or mental health attention.
BIT’s mission is to provide a safe environment for the campus community through collaboration, information collection, risk assessment, and intervention while supporting Carroll’s mission. Carroll’s mission helps community members feel empowered to learn, transform their lives, and build communities.
How does BIT work?
- If you have a concern about a Carroll student you can report the concern through Starfish or the alternative channel, a Student Concern Report the Student of Concern & Incident Report Form.
- Visit the Student Care and Integrity page to learn more about the Student Concern Report process.
- BIT members review reports promptly and determine appropriate action.
- Confidentiality of reports and processes are maintained as needed.
