About the Certificate

Small businesses hire a bookkeeper to facilitate the gathering of financial data on a regular basis. This position often requires knowledge and skill in basic accounting and in the use of QuickBooks software.

Our Certified Bookkeeping Certificate is a career-based program that trains students for entry-level administrative positions, enhances their vocational skills and prepares them for the Certified Bookkeeper exam offered by the American Institute of Professional Bookkeeper (www.aipb.org). The courses provide students with the relevant technical skills as well as the analytical and conceptual skills to perform successfully in the modern office environment.

Students are encouraged to visit www.aipb.org for more information on the certification program, testing dates and other information on the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers.

Career

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the job outlook for bookkeeping/accounting/auditing clerks or bookkeepers will remain virtually stable over the next decade. Nearly 200,000 openings are projected each year to replace workers who transfer or retire.

With the advent of the remote workplace, this type of career is suitable for those who care for family members and children. The automation of routine tasks will require bookkeepers to focus more on analyzing their clients’ books to look for potential areas of gains in efficiency.

This Certificate fast-tracks students from the classroom to the working world in a relatively short period of time.
