Designated Spaces

  • Carroll Community College provides the following designated spaces to better serve our students.
  • All-Gender Bathroom

The College has an individual-user bathroom that is designated as an all-gender bathroom. It is a single-user bathroom with a lockable door. It is located in the upper level of the T building adjacent to the Theater balcony, room T423.

According to the Department of Justice and Education, a school may provide separate facilities on the basis of sex, but must allow transgender student’s access to such facilities consistent with their gender identity. A school may not require transgender students to use facilities inconsistent with their gender identity or to use individual-user facilities when other students are not required to do so. A school may, however, make individual-user options available to all students who voluntarily seek additional privacy.

    Lactation Rooms

Carroll Community College has two lactation rooms available for nursing mothers. Room L092 is available upon request. Requestors should be directed to the office of Student Life (A118) to sign out a key.  In the event that Student Life is closed, Campus Police can be contacted to open the door.

Room K134 is available upon request. K134 is a shared space with Continuing Education IT, but is rarely used as an IT support space. Requestors should be directed to Continuing Education (K117).  Continuing Education will check to see if K134 is available. In the event that Continuing Education is closed, Campus Police may be contacted to check the status of the room and open the door if the room is available.
