Orientation

  • Fall 2019 Orientation Sessions

New students starting in the Fall 2019 term, including students transferring in from another college, should attend New Student Orientation.

When you embark on a new journey, it's always best to get oriented. That's the idea behind Carroll's New-Student Orientation. To learn how best to succeed while you are here, orientation is essential. But it's also much more. It's your chance to meet faculty and staff, get your bearing on campus and grab lots of cool free giveaways!

    Register for New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation will be held on the following dates according to Area of Study. Please RSVP for the day that your Area of Study is listed. If you are not available on that day or you are a dual-enrolled or general studies student, you can select any date to attend.

Click the link below to complete a registration form for orientation.

Your attendance and participation are expected! Students who do not attend will miss important information. Commit to your attendance by clicking the link above to register for orientation.

Check-in will begin 30 minutes prior to orientation sessions at the entrance of the A building.

The program will begin promptly at the start time listed above.

Some of the things you will receive at the event include:

    • Area of Study Information
    • Technology Information and Help with Email and Blackboard
    • Information on how to get involved on campus
    • Information on how to be successful in online classes
    • Your student photo ID
    • "Find Your Classroom" tour
    • Opportunity to purchase textbooks
    • Please bring a photo ID with you.

Parents and family members are welcome to attend. The orientation includes a special session just for them, which includes information on supporting their college student.

  • Tips and Recommendations

Plan some time to purchase books from the Carroll bookstore prior to or after the event. If purchasing them prior to the event, we recommend you have a place to store them rather than having to carry them with you. Plus, we provide a lot of extra things to carry during the program!

Fall classes begin on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
