Orientation

  • When you embark on a new journey, it's always best to get oriented. That's the idea behind Carroll's New Student Orientation. To learn how best to succeed while you are here, orientation is essential. But it's also much more. It's your chance to meet faculty and staff, get your bearing on campus and grab lots of cool free giveaways!

    •  Meet college faculty, staff and other students
    •  Ask questions
    •  Learn how to balance responsibilities of home, work and college
    •  Explore great ways to get involved including student government, clubs, service-learning, leadership programs, student ambassador opportunities and intramural sports
    •  Take care of last minute business
    •  Tour the college and find classrooms
    •  Get to know the vast resources we offer to help make your experience a great success
    •  Leave with lots of free giveaways
  • Fall 2018 Orientation Sessions

    New students starting in the Fall 2018 Term, including students transferring in from another college, should attend New Student Orientation.

    (Dual Students in High School may attend any day.)

    Your attendance and participation are expected! Students who do not attend will miss important information. Commit to your attendance by clicking on the links above that correspond to your day.  

    11:30am Lunch in the Cafe in K Building (optional and at own expense)

    12:30pm Check-In...Scott Center Theater Lobby

    Some of the things you will receive at the event include:

    • Area of Study Information
    • Blackboard Login Information and Help
    • Information on how to get involved on campus
    • Help with advising
    • Your student photo ID
    • General college tour and "Find Your Classroom" tour
    • Opportunity to purchase textbooks

    Please bring a photo ID with you. 

    Parents and family members are welcome to attend. The orientation includes a special session just for them, which includes information on supporting their college student. 


  • Tips and Recommendations

    Plan some time to purchase books from the Carroll bookstore prior to or after the event. If purchasing them prior to the event, we recommend you have a place to store them rather than having to carry them with you. Plus, we provide a lot of extra things to carry during the program!

    Fall classes begin on Monday, Aug. 27, 2018.
